CMC completes $2.7M EP Lab renovation, reinforcing 40-year cardiac care commitment

Catholic Medical Center announced the completion of a $2.7 million renovation of its Electrophysiology (EP) 2 Lab, marking a significant investment in advanced cardiac care for the community and reaffirming its more than 40-year commitment to heart health. This project is part of a broader HCA Healthcare investment of more than $150 million into Catholic Medical Center to modernize facilities and expand access to high-quality care. It is the first major infrastructure update to be completed, with additional enhancements planned.

The newly renovated EP lab is designed to support complex electrophysiology procedures with greater precision, efficiency and patient comfort, ensuring patients can continue to receive advanced cardiac care close to home.

“This renovation represents more than an investment in facilities—it reflects our ongoing commitment to delivering exceptional cardiac care to our community,” said John Skevington, Chief Executive Officer of CMC. “For over four decades, we have remained focused on improving heart health and expanding access to life-saving treatments, and that has not changed.”

“With the support of HCA Healthcare, we are able to make critical investments that strengthen our capabilities, enhance the patient experience and support the long-term sustainability of the hospital,” Skevington added. “While our work to achieve financial sustainability continues, modernizing our infrastructure allows us to improve the patient experience and build a stronger future for our hospital.”

CMC welcomed community leaders and partners to commemorate the milestone, including Manchester Mayor Jay Ruais and the Most Reverend Peter A. Libasci, D.D., Bishop of Manchester. The organization extends its gratitude to the Mayor for his support and to the Bishop for offering a special blessing of the newly renovated space.

The enhanced EP 2 Lab equips physicians and clinical teams with advanced tools to diagnose and treat cardiac rhythm disorders, further strengthening CMC’s role as a trusted provider of cardiovascular care in the region.

“Our commitment has always been to put patients first and provide care close to home,” Skevington said. “This renovation ensures we can continue delivering high-quality, compassionate care for generations to come.”
