Giving birth is a special experience, and we are dedicated to making it a joyous and safe occasion for you and your baby.

At Catholic Medical Center, our obstetricians, nurse-midwives and nurses are dedicated to offering expert and personalized prenatal, labor and delivery care to you and your baby. We encourage you to ask questions, seek support and share your needs before, during and after your birth experience.

Supportive labor and delivery services

Your journey to parenthood begins even before you become pregnant. We offer a range of prenatal services for parents-to-be, including personalized tours of our birthing suites.

The Mom's Place tour

An important part of prenatal care is familiarizing yourself with where you'll give birth. We want you to know what to expect during your stay at The Mom’s Place, so we set aside time to meet with parents-to-be in small groups. We call these welcome visits.

Welcome visits are convenient and free, typically lasting around 90 minutes. We recommend taking the Mom's Place tour when you're 16 to 24 weeks into your pregnancy. To respect all families in attendance, welcome visits are not appropriate for children under 15 years of age.

To find out more about The Mom's Place tour, call us at (603) 663-6667.

Labor and delivery

The Mom’s Place is a family-centered birth center where you and your baby receive compassionate care. Our family-centered philosophy means your baby is with you promptly after birth. You can expect skin-to-skin bonding while your baby rooms with you and your support person. The Mom’s Place birthing suites ensure you and your family feel secure in a private and comfortable space before, during and after your baby arrives.

Our state-of-the-art neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) is designed to meet the distinct needs of newborns born as early as 30 weeks. Families become the primary caregivers of their infants as they collaborate and work alongside our healthcare team. Partnering with a team of Dartmouth Health Children’s neonatologists and advanced practice providers, our high-quality medical expertise allows us to monitor, treat and care for newborns requiring intensive care.
