Catholic Medical Center (CMC), a member of the HCA Healthcare family, is pleased to announce the expansion of its Labor & Delivery program with the addition of Dr. Robyn Stewart and Dr. Thomas Zarka from Women’s Health Associates of Derry, who will begin delivering babies at CMC’s Mom’s Place starting July 3, 2025. As part of its commitment to growing maternity services, CMC is also expanding its midwifery program by launching a new midwifery-led practice group. This program will include five to six certified midwives providing both inpatient and outpatient care, while continuing to offer 24/7 in-house midwifery coverage for labor, delivery and postpartum care.
With approximately 1,000 births annually, CMC remains committed to providing compassionate, patient-centered maternity care. The addition of Drs. Stewart and Zarka further strengthens CMC’s dedication to delivering exceptional, family-focused obstetric services.
“We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Stewart and Dr. Zarka to CMC,” said CEO John Skevington. “Their expertise, combined with our dedicated labor and delivery team, ensures that families in our community receive the highest quality care in a supportive and compassionate environment. This expansion reflects our commitment to growing maternity services and providing expectant parents with outstanding choices for their birth experience.”

In addition to welcoming Drs. Stewart and Zarka, CMC is expanding its midwifery program with the launch of a new midwifery-led practice group. This program will include five to six certified midwives providing both inpatient and outpatient care, while continuing to offer 24/7 in-house midwifery coverage for labor, delivery and postpartum care.
Family Integrated care is the standard model of care at CMC's Moms Place and NICU & Family Care Suites. The Family Integrated care model ensures that mothers and babies stay together, beginning with birth, to promote bonding and a smoother postpartum experience. Maternity care will remain within the LDRP model (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum) and NICU family integrated care, reinforcing CMC's commitment to a family-centered experience.
