- Minimally Invasive Surgical Techniques
Many procedures at CMC can be performed using minimally invasive techniques, which offer patients reduced pain, faster recovery times and smaller scars. CMC was one of the first hospitals in the country to adopt minimally invasive, robot-assisted surgery with the da Vinci® Surgical System. We now operate with two of these advanced robotic platforms, allowing for unparalleled precision and better surgical outcomes. - Outpatient Surgical Care
For outpatients who need or wish to use an ambulatory surgery center for insurance reasons, CMC has a partnership with the Bedford Ambulatory Surgery Center (BASC). Complex surgery will be performed at CMC while outpatients may have procedures at either BASC or CMC.
State-of-the-art surgical suites
CMC’s Surgery Department features 10 advanced surgical suites, including eight dedicated to general surgery and two for cardiac surgery. One of these suites is a hybrid operating room that integrates traditional surgical capabilities with advanced imaging and cardiac catheterization technologies. This unique setup allows us to perform both minimally invasive and open surgeries while providing real-time imaging to ensure precision and safety during procedures.
Designed with patient and family comfort in mind
We understand the importance of both medical care and emotional support. Before surgery, patient are escorted to a pre-operative area where family members can be with them for comfort. After the procedure, recovery takes place in a dedicated post-operative care area.
Our family waiting room is designed for comfort and convenience, offering a quiet space and a separate area with a television, both equipped with wireless internet. Additionally, we have a private consultation room for confidential conversations between physicians and family members.
CMC’s surgical suites are located near our Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit and heliport ensuring rapid response in urgent situations.
